HANDCRAFTED CUSHIONS

This project with Welspun global brands involved working with handcrafts in collaboration with a Non- governmental organisation (NGO) called ‘Gramshree’ in Ahmadabad, Gujarat to develop a set of cushion covers for international and Indian market with empowering women along the path. The major objective of the project was to make a greater number of women self-reliant and independent thereby empowering women’s with opportunities for a better livelihood. The project deals with the concept to design luxury textile home products inspired from India for upcoming international brand ‘Spun‘ working with Hand crafts, through exploring different techniques like appliqué, patch work, aari embroidery along with available materials and a social responsibility of empowering women through crafts also developing innovative product range from hand crafts which will suit the demands.
